Choosing to Buy a Baby Bouncy Seat or an Infant Swing
Bouncy seats are popular baby products because they come in many colors and varieties, with the added bonus of toys, music, and lights, depending on the model. Complete with a lap belt, to keep infants secure, this wonderful little invention does much more than simply entertaining a baby.
Putting Baby to Sleep
Once an infant figures out how to make a bouncy seat bounce, she'll have tons of fun making it move, and quickly learn that the movement, similar to rocking, is also relaxing. For short, supervised naps, a bouncy seat is a great alternative to the crib.

If parents really want to go all out, they could opt for a model that swings both side-to-side or front-to-back, plays multiple melodies and nature sounds, has a moving mobile, and a light show.
Bouncy Seats vs. Swings
Which is better? The answer depends on what the new parent is looking for. An infant swing is best for a newborn, as it rocks itself, and newborns spend most of their time sleeping. As the baby starts to develop, however, she is likely to become bored with it quicker than she would a bouncy seat.
The bouncy seat is better suited for babies once they start moving a bit and staying awake for more than a few minutes at a time. Overall, a baby will likely use a bouncy seat for a longer period of time than a swing. A bouncy seat has more potential uses and is easier to move and travel with.
If it is affordable to have both, get both – infants look so cute in a swing! Otherwise, the bouncy seat is the more versatile, and less expensive, product.
